DETRAP (Defense Equipment TRAnsfer Partnership) is a portal site for sharing information between the public and private sectors, with the aim of fostering public-private collaboration for the collection and dissemination of information to promote the appropriate overseas transfer of defense equipment. This is in accordance with the Three Principles on Transfer of Defense Equipment and Technology, which stipulates that equipment transfer may be approved when it contributes to Japan’s security.
